LOAN WATCH

Hampton & Richmond FC currently have two first team players out on loan, with Alfy Whittingham temporarily with league rivals Havant & Waterlooville, and Alex Solomon spending the remainder of the season with Isthmian League Premier side Wingate & Finchley.

Alfy Whittingham (Havant & Waterlooville)

Alfy headed south to Havant & Waterlooville on 1st February, on an initial month’s loan. Born and raised in Portsmouth, Alfy’s loan move has seen him return to the club where he started his career. Manager Cliff de Gordon has predominantly been deploying Alfy in a central midfield role, with our No 8 making his fourth appearance for the Hawks on Saturday, scoring as Havant secured a 1-1 draw at home to Bath City. A trademark well-timed arrival in the box saw Alfy slide home a rebound to open the scoring in the 13th minute. Next up for Havant is a trip to the Bev on Tuesday, with Alfy unavailable for selection due to loan regulations.

Alex Solomon (Wingate & Finchley)

Since joining Wingate & Finchley on 24th November, Alex has gone on to make 15 appearances as the Blues mount an unexpected play off challenge in the Isthmian League Premier. Alex’s time at the Maurice Rebak Stadium has seen mainly used as a right sided centre back, though recently he has also played at right back and right wing back. Currently unbeaten in five, Alex played 68 minutes in an impressive 2-2 draw away at fellow play off contenders Enfield Town on Saturday, to keep Ahmet Rifat’s side in 4th place. Alex is due to remain with Wingate & Finchley until the end of the season, and his next match will be away to Bognor Regis Town on Tuesday night.
