BATTLE OF THE AMPERSANDS

BATTLE OF THE AMPERSANDS

Hampton & Richmond will hope to end a run of four home games without a win when they host Havant & Waterlooville at the Bev on Tuesday night.

Thanks to an emphatic win in Dorset against Weymouth, and a hard fought point at home to Farnborough, the Beavers remain in the final play-off position in seventh. With 13 games to go, eight of which taking place at Beveree, home form will be crucial to deciding the fate of Hampton & Richmond's season. The visit of Havant & Waterlooville brings the season full circle, as the TW12 side launched their impressive 17 game unbeaten run with a climactic late victory over the visitors back in October, with Connor Kurran-Browne completing the comeback with less than ten minutes to spare.

The Hawks remain deep in relegation trouble, with two management changes not enough just yet to pull them out of danger. A superb win against Chelmsford and a draw at home to Bath still leaves the visitors nine points from safety, with teams around them having games in hand. Alfy Whittingham, on loan at Havant but unable to feature today, got the first goal in their game against Bath, earning him a spot in the NLS team of the week.

In the 20 previous encounters between the two sides, the Hawks have come up trumps on eight occasions, with the spoils being shared on seven occasions.
