Gwinnett on Havant Game: "We need to be at our best"

Hampton & Richmond manager Mel Gwinnett isn't letting his side take anything for granted as the Beavers prepare to host Havant & Waterlooville tonight at Beveree Stadium.

With the TW12 side occupying the final play-off position and the Hawks languishing in 23rd in the National League South, Mel expects the visitors to arrive  hoping to cause an upset. "They've got so many quality players that they've either had for a couple of years or acquired this season." The boss said. "They'll be so disappointed with how the season has gone for them so far, and they've already shown they can produce some fantastic results. Even recently, beating Chelmsford, who are the form team at the moment, and a draw against Bath, another team aiming high. If anything their league position is very deceiving."

Turning attention to his own side, Mel told us "We need to be at our best tonight. It's a message I've been delivering to the players all season. As soon as you start to think you are a good side, that's when complacency sets in, and Havant & Waterlooville are a team capable of capitalising on that."
