IMPROVED FIRST HALF NOT ENOUGH FOR BEAVERS

IMPROVED FIRST HALF NOT ENOUGH FOR BEAVERS

A flowing attacking threat in the first 45 minutes was undone by a Charlie Hughes tap in to consign the Beavers to defeat at home.

Seven minutes into the match, Connor Kurran-Browne skipped past his man and fired a shot, that whistled just past the post.

Hampton & Richmond had another opportunity, as Joshua Anifowose crossed the ball in for Isaac Pitblado, who fired his volley inches wide of the net. Chances kept coming for the home side as Luis Fernandez latched onto a set piece, but his effort did not hit the target.

The Beevers almost took the lead, after Tope Fadahunsi held the ball up and laid it off for Bayley Brown to unleash a rocket, that rattled the woodwork. Luis Fernandez produced some heroics after he had to clear a shot off the line.

Once more the home team came close, as Anifowose held an opposition player off and drilled his effort, but failed to hit the target.

The Beveree Stadium thought they had got the opener, with Fernandez nodding the ball down, and Jonathan North making a great save. The rebound fell to Fadahunsi putting the ball into the net, but the goal was disallowed for a foul. Just before the break, Charlie Hughes fired a shot, which forced Adam Desbois into a fingertip save.

Into the second half the game went, as Jake Gray curled a corner into the box, which found Kurran-Browne, but he flicked his header wide of the goal.

A corner for Aveley led to Siju Odelusi firing a dangerous shot, that just went over the bar. Just before the seventieth minute, a looping ball into the box was tapped in by Charlie Hughes to give the visitors the lead.

Dominic Revan darted down the wing and played a delightful cross to Fadahunsi, but the striker could not find the net. Arjanit Krasniqi fired a volley a goal, that flew towards goal, but just went over the crossbar.

Unfortunately the Beavers were not able to find the equaliser. This result means that Hampton & Richmond drop to eighth, while Aveley close the gap between the teams to one point.

The Beavers next home game takes place NEXT Saturday when we host Farnborough.
