A TRIP TO DORSET

A TRIP TO DORSET

The Beavers face the Terras at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Tuesday night, hoping to pick up valuable away points as February begins to come to an end.

An unfortunate defeat at home to Aveley on Saturday leaves the Beavers outside of the play-offs in ninth place, level on 50 points with Essex-based Braintree Town in eighth. Plenty of teams above and below have played at least a game more than Hampton & Richmond, so there is an opportunity for the TW12 side to make their games in hand count as the end of the season fast approaches over the horizon.

Weymouth, meanwhile, have stabilised the ship and look comfortable in 17th place. Now 12 points clear of the relegation zone, the Terras will be looking up, with just eleven points between them and seventh placed Aveley.

This fixture was supposed to be Mel Gwinnett's first in charge last season, but a very late postponement meant that the Beavers had to return home after making the trip to Dorset on a cold Tuesday night. The hosts have a good record, winning the last three in a row when the sides have played at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Earlier this season, the reverse fixture was full of excitement and controversy, as three floodlight failures and a late Ben Seymour penalty culminated in a late 1-0 win for the Beavers.

Mel will be hoping for more positive squad news, with Sam Deadfield returning to the squad on Saturday, and Ben Seymour back from illness.
