IGNITION FOR RAMPANT BEAVERS

IGNITION FOR RAMPANT BEAVERS

A Fernandez double helped Hampton & Richmond come from behind to secure a big three points for the Beavers away at Weymouth.

The game got off to a perfect start as Isaac Pitblado stepped up to take the place of the injured Ben Seymour on penalty duty after a handball in the Weymouth box. Pitblado cooly dispatched to send Gerrard Benfield the wrong way.

The Terras grew into the game, equalising through Malachi Linton, before Tom Bearwish capitalised on a lapse of concentration to shoot the hosts in-front.

Mel Gwinnett's men didn't let that affect them, with Fernandez, Revan, Anifowose, Gray and Deadfield the stand-outs. In the last ten before the break, it was Luis Fernandez who bullied the Weymouth backline to score two quick fire headed goals and put the visitors in front at the break.

In the second half, Hampton & Richmond looked calm and composed, limiting Weymouth to only half chances. The finishing touch was applied by Josh Anifowose half-way through, slotting home the Beavers fourth and putting the game out of Weymouth's reach.

The Beavers now look forward to a home double, with Farnborough visiting on Saturday, and Eastbourne in town on Tuesday
