WESTON IN TOWN FOR CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA

WESTON IN TOWN FOR CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA

Hampton & Richmond host Weston Super Mare this Saturday in the Vanarama National League South.

The visitors arrived having put together an Impressive run of four successive wins from their last five, most recently tasting defeat against another newly promoted side in Truro. This form has seen them bounce up the league into 12th place, seven points above the relegation zone and just four points away from play-off contention.

Hampton & Richmond come into their final home game of the season having obtained two big draws, firstly salvaging a point in the final minute at home to Braintree, the other by holding league leaders Yeovil to a 0-0 draw at home. These results mean the Beavers are still unbeaten in fourteen games. Having last lost in September, Mel and his players will be desperate to see out the year at home with another win.

The last time these teams faced was at the start of the season. Hampton & Richmond were unable to make it two wins on the spin as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Weston-super-Mare.

The Beavers took the lead just before half time through Mason Bloomfield's emphatic finish following some quick-thinking by Jake Gray from a corner.

But despite creating a number of chances to get a second and having a strong penalty appeal waved away, Mel Gwinnett's side were forced to share the spoils as they were pegged back by Marlon Jackson's composed effort.

The two sides have faced off seventeen times in their history, dating back to 2007. All of these fixtures have taken place in the National League South, with the Beavers losing just two and winning eleven.
