A record crowd descended on Beveree on Good Friday as Hampton & Richmond were held to a 0-0 draw Tonbridge Angels.

2031 supporters arrived in TW12 to support Mel Gwinnett's side in their quest for the play-offs, with the Angels arriving comfortably mid-table with little to play for.

The game was a tightly contested affair throughout, with neither side really able to sustain any meaningful possession. Adam Desbois did have a couple of big saves to make, including remaining composed and making himself big to deny a shot from close range in the box. 

Tariq Hinds was a notable threat for the Angels, getting on the end of a couple of fantastic whipped crosses, just unable to apply the killer final touch, and did his part out on the wing, attempting to beat his man at every opportunity.

Luis Fernandez had another very composed game at the back, eventually earning himself Player of the Match. On several occasions, he found himself as the last line of defence, and at every opportunity he was equal to the challenge, winning the ball of Nathan Odokonyero midway through the half when the attacker was charging forward.

The Beavers' best opportunity of the first half came right at the end, as Tope Fadahunsi hit a low header which was well saved by Henley.

The second half rarely looked like it would be build up steam. It took until the 80th minute for Hampton & Richmond to come close to taking the lead. A pacy, low cross from Fadahunsi found substitute Mason Bloomfield who, from 8-yards, put his effort over the bar under serious pressure from the Tonbridge Centre Back.

Ultimately, it was a game of few chances, and Mel Gwinnett's side will be hoping of building on this solid defensive display in the last six games of the season.
