Match Preview: Welling United (H)

Hampton & Richmond will be more than aware of the threat at hand as Welling United arrive in hot form looking to cause another upset at the other end of the table.

Where They Stand

The Beavers arrive under the lights of the Bev with their fate In the National League South play-off race firmly in their hands. A fourth straight victory away at Hemel Hempstead pushed the TW12 side into fourth place, with two and one games in hand on 2nd and 3rd place respectively. This recent string of victories has dramatically placed Hampton & Richmond on top of the form guide, with just nine games of the regular season remaining. The Beavers will be without Bayley Brown after he picked up a quad injury on the Weekend. Super-sub Alex Munroe Gibson-Hammond looks set to remain involved, whilst Jordan Thomas could make a return to the squad after damaging his ankle away to Braintree back in January.

The Wings will also arrive full of confidence as they continue their push away from the relegation zone. New Manager Rod Stringer has been an instant hit at Park View Road. The visitors have lost just once in the league under their new boss, who kicked off his reign with victory over the Beavers in the reverse fixture back in January. This transformation was capped with a head-turning 0-1 away win at league leaders Yeovil last weekend. Following that up with a late rally at home to Weston-Super-Mare, the Wings have propelled themselves five points clear of the drop-zone. A remarkable feat when many tipped them to be written off at the start of the year.
