King Appointed to Beavers Board

Hampton & Richmond Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of local resident and Beavers diehard fan Will King as Managing Director

Will is joining the Club on a full time basis and will be responsible for the day to day management of the club including the execution of its strategic objectives on and off the pitch. As a leader within the local community, Will lives and breathes the Club values demonstrated by his proactive dedication to the Beavers, committing his free time supporting matchday operations as well as coaching one of our youth teams. Will is an example and source of pride for all supporters, paving the way for more members of the community wishing to enter the world of professional football.

This is an important step towards the ongoing professionalisation of the Club in our journey to become a force to be reckoned with at the National League level and beyond. As part of this appointment, brothers Rafa and Stefano Petruzzo will step back from day to day management and focus on developing the long term growth strategy with the invaluable support of the investors who have provided the funding for this first stage of the Club’s evolution under the stewardship of Ramayana Ventures.

The brothers said “This is a great example of how a supporter can become a proactive leader of the Club; Will’s behaviour and attitude are clear demonstration of how a fan can achieve their dream of becoming involved in professional sports. He epitomises leadership and selfless dedication.” Jacques Le Bars, Club Chair, commented “Will’s appointment is an important step in the next chapter of the football club. I look forward to welcoming him onto the board and seeing his progression into this new role. The new, upcoming Managing Director said “I’m very excited about this opportunity and look forward to putting my skills and knowledge to the use of the Club and its vision; this will be a season to remember!”

Will is going got be formally onboarded over the coming weeks as he transitions over from his current role at Sky and fans will undoubtedly see him on our upcoming match days. His formal appointment to the Club Board of Directors will take place once the requisite FA approvals are granted.

As Director of Football, Mel Gwinnett is accountable for all football operations and will continue to report directly into Ownership, working alongside Will to execute the Club’s sporting, commercial and community objectives.
