BEAVERS HOPING TO ERASE BAD MEMORIES AS ST ALBANS VISIT

High flying Hampton & Richmond will be looking to continue their scintillating form on Tuesday night, and put to bed any memory of a torrid night at the Bev last season.

Just over one year ago, on November 1st on a cold Tuesday evening, St Albans condemned the Beavers to a 6-0 home defeat amongst what can only be called a finishing clinic by the hosts. Two goals each for Tafari Moore, Zane Banton and Kyran Wiltshire completed a torrid night for the TW12 side in one of the clubs heaviest defeats at this level.

Flash forward one year, and things are looking different, Hampton & Richmond now find themselves on an eight game unbeaten run, having won seven and drawn one. Most recently, they put on a finishing clinic of their own, dispatching five past Maidstone on Saturday, with Mason Bloomfield securing a hat-trick of headers. The Beavers are now level on points with Bath City in fourth, and stand a chance of finishing the night in second place, with Aveley dropping points to Chelmsford last night.

Meanwhile, St Albans currently sit comfortably mid-table. In 16th, they are six point above the drop zone and five points outside the play-offs. In an on off start to the season, the saints have won seven and lost nine, this up and down form can be seen in their last five games too. Back to back wins against Chippenham and Slough have been followed by three successive defeats at the hands of Aveley, Braintree and St Albans.

Hampton & Richmond and St Albans have been near constant adversaries for over 50 years, facing off a staggering 60 times in that period. Our head to head record is close too, with 20 wins for the Beavers, 23 for the Saints. The highest scoring occasion dating back to 1983 in the Isthmian League. Goals for Shodeinde, Lake, Mitchell and Heselden under Roger Charland ensured a 4-4 draw at the Bev.

Who knows if we'll get something similar this evening!
